Although the Banner County High School track team started with eight athletes this season, there are only three now: Makynna Boettcher, Gabe Collier, and Kassie Loutzenhiser. Coaches Wittni Boettcher and Derren Hecker are pushing these kids to make it to state all while making the most out of their regular season.

Kassie and Makynna have been consistently placing in the top 6 of their events and are striving to keep improving in hopes of qualifying for state. While Gabe hasn’t had the opportunity to compete yet this season, we are looking forward to see how he performs at his first meet. To help these student athletes reach their potential, Coach Boettcher is setting goals for the team and is pushing for them to set new personal records. According to Makynna, “We enjoy pushing each other and watching each other grow from meet to meet!”

The athletes' first track meet was on April 2nd, at Bayard, and they have put in a lot of work to get to where they are currently in the season. Each athlete has had their own levels of success and we eagerly await to see how the season progresses. Keep pushing to wards that finish line, Wildcats!
